EMD Millipore Donates $10,000 to charity: water in Recognition of World Water Week

August 30, 2012, Darmstadt, Germany — EMD Millipore, the Life Science division of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt Germany, today announced a $10,000 donation to charity: water in recognition of World Water Week. As a leading supplier of products, services and solutions including water purification to the Life Science industry, access to clean water is an important charitable initiative for EMD Millipore. charity: water is a non-profit organization focused on bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. World Water Week, held this year from August 26 to September 1, provides a forum for conversation and best practices between scientific, business and political stakeholders concerning the ongoing clean water crisis in our global community.

This is the third $10,000 donation EMD Millipore has made to charity: water. Over the past five years, EMD Millipore has supported four communities in India and Cote D’Ivoire, providing over 2,000 people with access to clean drinking water through rehabilitated wells in community centers and schools.  charity: water provides sustainable water solutions, supplementing water filtration systems with local water committees as well as education regarding clean water and hygiene.
