Description
OverviewRecombinant, human activin A (disulfide-linked homodimer of two 116-amino acid residue βA subunits) expressed in CHO cells. Mature βA-monomer lacks a potential N-linked glycosylation site and has a calculated molecular weight of 13 kDa. A member of the TGF-β superfamily that is involved in the negative regulation of B lineage lymphocytes. Shown to play an important role in the regulation of hormonogenesis, cellular homeostasis, and differentiation programs. Reported to inhibit endogenous production of IL-6.
