DescriptionAnti-Endosialin Antibody, clone B1/35
Alternate Names
  • CD248 molecule, endosialin
  • CD164 sialomucin-like 1
  • endosialin
  • CD248 antigen, endosialin
  • Tumor endothelial marker 1
  • CD248 antigen
Background InformationEndosialin is a glycoprotein on the cell surface of vascular endothelial cells in a broad range of human cancers. Endosialin is thought to be highly expressed at the points of active tissue remodeling and neovascularisation which may imply that endosialin is key in tumor growth, angiogenesis and metastasis. Endosialin has structural similarity to CD93, which involves a C-type lectin-like domain, EGF-like repeats and a glycosylated mucin-like domain. This similarity may also suggest that endosialin plays a role in innate immunity and inflammation.
