Broadly Distributed Receptors and Transporters

Classical endocrine transmission and highly specialized neuronal synapses rely on the same basic components, including specific ligand release, receptor binding and ligand transporters. Many of these receptors and transporters are cell type-specific, including a large list of neuronal specific species.
