Background InformationfMet-Leu-Phe receptor (UniProt P21462; also known as fMLP receptor, FPR, N-formylpeptide chemoattractant receptor, N-formyl peptide receptor) is encoded by the FPR1 (also known as FMLP) gene in human (Entrez Gene ID 2357). N-formyl-methionyl peptides (FMLPs) are powerful neutrophils chemotactic factors. FMLPs exert their biological activies via binding G-protein-coupled N-formyl peptide chemoattractant receptors (FPRs). Occupancy of FPR1 by FMLPs is shown to induce regulatory phosphorylation of cytoplasmic serine/threonine residues.

ApplicationAnti-FPR1, C-Term Dephospho Antibody, clone NFPRb is an antibody against FPR1, C-Term Dephospho for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry.
      Key Applications
      • Flow Cytometry
      • Western Blotting
      • Immunoprecipitation
      • Immunocytochemistry
      • Immunohistochemistry
Application NotesFlow Cytometry Analysis: A representative lot detected FPR1 in human neutrophils (Babbin, B.A., et al. (2006). J. Immunol. 281(28):19588-19599).
Western Blotting Analysis: A representative lot detected FPR1 in human neutrophils (Maaty, W.S., et al. (2013). J. Biol. Chem. 288(38):27042-27058).

SpecificityClone NFPRb selectively detects FPR1 with non-phosphorylated C-terminal tail. Diminished immunoreactivity is an indication of enhanced FPR1 C-terminal tail phosphorylation or neutrophils activation. Clone NFPRb is not reactive toward N-formyl peptide receptor 2 (encoded by FPR2/FPRL1 gene) regardless of its phosphorylation state (PMID 16675446, 17675514, 23873933).
