Extran® Automated Cleaning

Extran® AP automated cleaning agents were created in cooperation with leading appliance manufacturers especially for use in laboratory washing machines. Thorough testing in these machines has proven their suitability and cleaning efficiency. In addition to their distinctive cleaning power with extensive universal effects, Extran® AP products greatly limit the formation of foam. Furthermore, the excellent water solubility of all components ensures residue-free cleaning of your laboratory utensils.

Application Advice

To neutralize displaced alkali residues and remove remaining traces of alkali, an acid rinser should be used after every main wash cycle. All neutralizing agents are suitable for this purpose, such as Extran® AP 21 acidic with phosphoric acid, or Extran® AP 22 acidic with citric acid.

Extran® AP 11 Powder, Mild Alkaline

• Gentle, universal cleaning agent for alkali-sensitive items
• Suitable for items which cannot be tainted with allergenic detergents, e.g. jewelry, glasses
• A corrosion inhibitor is included to protect glass and ceramics
• Does not foam even during heavy agitation in a washing machine

Extran® AP 12 Powder, Alkaline

• Active, universal cleaning agent for main wash cycle

Extran® AP 13 Powder, Alkaline with Detergents

• Intensive cleaning agent for main wash cycle
• Particularly effective against grease and oil deposits
• Also removes other organic and inorganic residues

Extran® AP 16 Liquid, Mild Alkaline Concentrate

• Gentle, universal cleaning agent for alkali-sensitive items
• Suitable for items which cannot be tainted with allergenic detergents, e.g. jewelry, glasses
• Does not foam even during heavy agitation in a washing machine

Extran® AP 17 Liquid, Alkaline Concentrate

• Active, universal cleaning agent for main wash cycle
• Cleans even heavily soiled items
• Particularly suitable for removal of starch and protein residues
• Does not foam even during heavy agitation in a washing machine

Extran® AP 21 Liquid, Acidic with Phosphoric Acid

As a pre-wash agent:

• Primarily dissolves carbonates and hydroxides from residues
• An acidic pre-wash often removes protein substances and organic bases (e.g. amines) better than an alkaline main wash cycle

As a rinsing agent (after alkaline main wash cycle):

• Especially suitable for removing remaining traces of alkali
• Neutralization effect in case of solution carry-over
• Also well suited to removal of calcareous deposits in washing machines

Extran® AP 22 Liquid, Acidic with Citric Acid

As a pre-wash agent:

• Primarily dissolves hydroxides from residues
• An acidic pre-wash often removes protein substances and organic bases (e.g. amines) better than an alkaline main wash cycle

As a rinsing agent (after alkaline main wash cycle):

• Suitable for removing remaining traces of alkali
• Neutralization effect in case of solution carry-over
• Also well suited to removal of calcareous deposits in washing machines
• Recommended for cases in which gentle conditions must be maintained
• Particularly suitable for gentle removal of calcareous deposits, e.g. on taps, sensitive metals and glass surfaces

Extran® AP 33 Liquid, Anti-Foaming Agent

• Prevents excessive foam formation for easy, reliable cleaning
• Especially suitable for cleaning residues that foam themselves, e.g. protein stains, emulsifiers (soaps), etc.
• Extran® AP 33 is as effective as its successful predecessor, Extran® AP 31, but with no added formaldehyde, thus safe for users and the environment
• This unique cleaning agent is produced under strictly controlled conditions to ensure consistently high quality

Extran® AP 41 Powder, Enzymatic

• For use in lab washing machines
• Especially suitable for removing residues of dried tissue, saliva, mucus, protein and blood, in catheters, breathing tubes, breathing bags etc.
• Ideal cleaning temperatures are between 55 and 65°C, since the enzymes do not work above 70°C
• Extran® AP 22 acidic with citric acid is recommended as a rinsing agent
