Government Regulation 49cfr173.29 provides options for the return of empty recycle drums as summarized below:
* Shipping papers – all requirements as specified in Government Regulation 49cfr for shipping papers will apply, including the requirement to provide an emergency response telephone number. This emergency telephone number is to be monitored at all times while the material is in transport. After 10/1/2010, the shipping papers must include the shipper's company name and/or contract number if the shipper company is using a contracted service such as Chemtrec.
IMPORTANT: Neither Chemtrec nor MilliporeSigma allows any 3rd party use of MilliporeSigma's Chemtrec contract number. It is the shipper company's responsibility to independently contract with a service such as Chemtrec.
