          Description
OverviewSodium salt of carboxymethylcellulose. Has extremely high viscosity. Contains an average of 0.85 carboxymethyl groups per anhydroglucose unit.
Aquacides are useful for concentration of proteins and other macromolecules and can be used for rapid removal of water from dialysis tubing by using either a 2% syrup or the Aquacide solid. Aquacides neither denature proteins nor change the pH during concentration. At room temperature 1 g of Aquacide absorbs about 5 ml of water from solution in 1 h.
