Full-length, recombinant, human tubulin-α-1 (TBA1, TUBA1, α-tubulin 1) fused to HisTag® and STag™ sequences at the N-terminus and expressed in E. coli. This preparation is qualified for use as a substrate for protein tyrosine kinases in in vitro assays. Tubulin-α-1 is a major constituent of microtubules. It binds one GTP at a nonexchangeable site (aa 142-148) on the alpha-chain. IFN-α-induced phosphorylation at Tyr271 has been demonstrated in Jurkat cells. Tyrosine phosphorylation is expected at Tyr172, Tyr210, Tyr224, and Tyr282 by EGFR and at Tyr440 by InsR.
