Recombinant, human ubiquitin conjugating enzyme 5b fused to GST and expressed in E. coli. E2s are a family of ubiquitin carrier proteins that transfer ubiquitin to the ε-lysine of proteins designated for degradation. UbcH5b is a human homolog of the yeast UBC4/5 family which has been shown to play many important regulatory roles in inflammation and cancer.

DescriptionRecombinant, human ubiquitin conjugating enzyme 5b fused to GST and expressed in E. coli. E2s are a family of ubiquitin carrier proteins that transfer ubiquitin to the ε-lysine of proteins designated for degradation. Forms thiol ester adducts with ubiquitin and has an activity similar to UbcH5a. UbcH5b is a human homolog of the yeast UBC4/5 family that has been shown to play important regulatory roles in inflammation and cancer.
